Carbon fibre tubes can be used to replace aluminium or steel tubes in a wide range of projects. The Carbon fibre tube of the same weight as an aluminum or steel tube can be much stronger and lighter. This 14mm roll-wrapped carbon fibre tube is manufactured predominantly using high modulus (T700) unidirectional prepreg carbon fibre oriented to provide maximum strength in the lateral axis.

Roll-wrapped carbon fibre tubes offer superior strength in general use to pultruded tubes (which have all their fibres running in exactly the same direction.

The use of unidirectional fibres and maximum strength in the lateral axis does mean that the tube is not strong across its diameter as it is along its length so should be used in such a way as to avoid unnecessary crushing forces across the tube.

Our Carbon Fiber tubes are designed for the best strength-to-weight ratio. We use a full wrap of 3K filament fabric impregnated with strong clear epoxy, then a fine gloss or matte finish is added. There are no fillers! These Carbon Fibre tubes provide a perfect balance between strength, stiffness, and weight. This results in a very light tube, strong enough for Multi-copter design and their numerous crashes. Also, the twill design prevents damage from twisting of the tube, enabling these tubes to handle heavier loads. These tubes are very different from the common "kite" tubes.

Our Roll wrapped carbon fibre tubes are manufactured by wrapping multiple layers of 12k UD and 3k twill carbon fibre prepregs around a metal mould and then cured at high temperature. The UD prepregs are used in core layers whereas the twill is on the surface.

Ideal for handling the pressure of motor blocks, preventing rotation failure, and crushing of arms in multi-copter drone builds.

Although specially laminated, ground, lacquered and polished to produce a carbon fibre tube with a stunning appearance, our 5mm 3K Carbon Fibre tubes are serious tubes suitable for demanding engineering applications including robotics/automation, R/C models, UAVs, recreational equipment, motorsport and marine.
