High-Strength 3K 2×2 Twill Fabric 1'' X 1.070'' Carbon Fiber Tube 72″ Length
High-Strength 3K 2×2 Twill Fabric 1″ X 1.070″ Carbon Fiber Tube 72″ Length
This 1″ x 1.070″ carbon fiber tubing is fabricated with multiple layers of high-strength unidirectional carbon fiber prepreg and has a 3K 2×2 twill fabric on the exterior.
Made with aerospace-quality carbon fiber cloth and convolute wrapped using a tight 3k 8 harness satin weave common in aerospace applications, our tubes have a fiber/resin ratio of 60/40% by weight. With 0/90 degree fiber orientation, they are cured under pressure and at high temperatures, ensuring strength and durability. After curing, the tubes are fine-sanded and almost ready for painting. Primers and prep are required. Please upgrade to the strength of aerospace technology with our carbon fiber tubes.
Features
- Very Strong for its Weight: The 3K carbon fiber's arrangement of 3,000 filaments in each tow provides exceptional strength while maintaining a lightweight profile. This property is crucial in industries where weight reduction is essential, such as the aerospace and automotive sectors.
- Very Rigid and Firm: The aligned fibers provide high stiffness, ensuring minimal deflection under load. This property makes them ideal for applications that require rigidity and stability, such as robotics and industrial equipment.
- Long Life: Carbon fiber composites, including 3K carbon fiber tubing, exhibit excellent resistance to corrosion and fatigue, making them suitable for outdoor and demanding environments.
Q: How strong is a 3K Carbon Fiber Tube?
A: A 3K Carbon Fiber Tube is powerful, with tensile strengths surpassing 200 GPa (gigapascals). This enables it to withstand immense stress and force before failure. Its strength primarily comes from tightly woven carbon fibers that provide optimal reinforcement. These fibers are further enhanced by a resilient resin matrix, ensuring additional strength and rigidity for the tube.
Q: Are there any limitations to the use of 3K Carbon Fiber Tubes?
A: While 3K Carbon Fiber Tubes offer several advantages, there are also limitations to consider. Firstly, they are more expensive to produce compared to traditional materials like aluminum or steel, primarily due to the cost of carbon fiber fabric and resin. Secondly, repairing them can be challenging because the fibers are integrated into the resin matrix, making it difficult to replace individual fibers if damaged. Lastly, they can be brittle under certain conditions, such as high impact or stress, potentially resulting in cracking or fracturing.
