Stainless Steel DS9092T Panel mount Probe with Tactile Feedback,64 bits Memory

  The tactile feedback probe is ideal for situations where the iButton is stationary and the movable reader is brought in contact with it. Both types of probes are available in a panel-mount version. The tactile feedback probe is also available in a grip-mount version. The panel-mount probes are fastened behind the panel with a push-on type spring nut. The two 15 cm 22AWG wires are provided for easy connection to the system microcontroller. The handgrip mount probe comes attached to a 10 cm handle and 1-meter cable which is terminated with an RJ11 jack.

  The protocol of the Probe is 1-wire, 1-wire is a technology defined by Dallas and used in their range of iButtons and other 1-wire sensors which can measure and control a wide range of environmental parameters. Communication with the devices is via a two wire bus consisting of data and ground. Each device has a unique, factory programmed address which cannot be altered and which is guaranteed unique. This fact alone makes them useful for key access and identification systems, but they have many other useful functions ranging from non-volatile storage, to temperature and humidity sensing, switching and voltage measurement.

Four components fundamental to iButton application:

• An iButton Device
• A host system: it can be a PC, laptop, handheld computer, or an embedded system.
• A reader/writer device to get information into and out of the button. This can be a pen-style probe, or a handheld device.
• A layer of software to interface iButton devices to computers and produce the desired information in the desired format.
