   The RFID inlay is made of two parts. An integrated circuit or microchip that stores personal identifying information attaches to a small coil of aluminum, copper or silver wires called the antenna, which transmits and receives radio frequency signals. The microchip and antenna are then placed on a label, and the entire unit is encased in plastic. RFID wet inlays are passive RFID inlays with an adhesive backing that can be either applied to a product directly or converted into smart labels (integrated into a paper or plastic label). As any passive tag, RFID wet inlay includes an integrated circuit (IC) or chip that stores and processes tag data and an antenna, which gathers power from the reader to power the tag and enable RFID communication.

 

    RFID Wet Inlays are comprised of two parts: an integrated circuit for storing and processing information, and an antenna for receiving and transmitting the signal. They are passive RFID Tags in that they have no internal power supply, and they are described as “wet” due to the adhesive backing. RFID Wet Inlays are best for applications where a low-cost “peel-and-stick” tag is needed. Any RFID Wet Inlay can also be converted into a paper or synthetic face label.
