Mozambique Din Rail Single Phase Prepaid Electricity Meter with Split CIU
The CA168-S Din Rail prepaid electricity meter is an STSA-certified device, fully compliant with the SANS 1524 series standards. This meter type is widely deployed in numerous African countries, including Kenya, Mozambique, Malawi, Ethiopia, South Africa, Angola, and Botswana. Its Din Rail mounting design facilitates space-saving and the configuration of multi-metering clusters, making it highly suitable for multi-dwelling complexes and apartment buildings.
The split design prioritizes maximum security against fraud while preserving customer convenience. The main measurement and control unit (MCU) features a Din-Rail structure and is installed in a location inaccessible to the user. Conversely, the Customer Interface Unit (CIU) is placed at a convenient location within the customer's premises. Through the CIU, customers can conveniently monitor their power usage and related information. Communication between the MCU and CIU can be achieved via Power Line Carrier (PLC), current loop, RF, or other methods specified by the customer.
With centralized MCU installation, service providers can perform checks and maintenance without entering customer premises. This significantly reduces operational management costs and enhances overall efficiency.
