However none of them fit into Mini-grid scenario. Card type meters usually operate with its manufacturer's proprietary prepayment standard, therefore will not integrate with any other solution. Besides card meters need card contact for any top-up or data exchange, which in reality, gives a lot of trouble such as limit of POS business hours, card loss, card damage. PLC may work in main grid. But mini-grid's unstable power flow vastly interferes PLC communication, which leads to connection loss.
The CA168-s is desinged for this kind of mini grid project, be suitable for 5A, 16A small current in the solar plant, and build in the 433 Mhz RF communication for communication between CIU and meter, furthermore, the built-in RF module lead to the possibility of monitoring remotely, the provider can reading remotely, control the meter remotely, get daily report, monthly report.
