Professional Viscosity Cup NK-2 Iwata Cup-Viscosity Measurement

The Iwata Cup is based on the Japan method of liquid viscosity measurement. It is used to test sample viscosity which is going to spray by spray gun. The procedure of usage is the same as that of the Zahn Cups.

Comply with JIS standard; Portable; Flow outlet 3.5mm; Volume 50ml; Viscosity ranges from 70 to 370cSt.

1: Select the specified outflow cup of a certain label.

2: Adjust the temperature of the filtered sample and the outflow cup to (23±0.5℃) or another agreed temperature.

3: Place the outflow cup on the support, use a level and adjust the horizontal screws of the support to ensure that the upper edge of the outflow cup is in a horizontal position.

4: Plug the hole of the outflow cup with a finger, slowly pour the prepared sample without bubbles into the outflow cup to avoid bubbles. If bubbles form, let them rise to the surface and remove them.

5: Use a straight edge scraper to scrape along the top edge of the outflow cup, or use a flat glass plate with a smooth edge to slide over the entire edge to remove the formed semilunar surface. The glass plate is pulled horizontally over the edge of the outflow cup so that the horizontal plane of the sample and the upper edge of the outflow cup are in the same horizontal position to determine.

6: Put a suitable container under the outflow cup, and the outflow hole distance should not be less than 100mm. Quickly remove the finger while starting the timer. When the flow beam of the outflow hole is interrupted for the first time, stop the timer immediately and record the outflow time, accurate to 0.5S.

7: Immediately clean it with appropriate solvent. Never use metal cleaning tools or wire. If the outflow hole is stained with dry sediment, soften it with a suitable solvent and clean it carefully, for example, by rubbing a soft cloth through the outflow hole.
