The HFE-100 Digital Portable Ferrite Content Testing Instrument is designed for accurate ferrite content measurements on welded seams and cladding items in industrial applications.
In the chemical industry, stress-bearing members of containers, pipes, reactor vessels and other plant are usually made of austenitic steel or duplex steel or cladding of austenitic chromium-nickel steel. The residual ferrite content must be within a specific range compatible with the mechanical strength requirements.
The meter is mainly used for the determination of the ferrite content of welded austenitic steel or Duplex or cladding of austenitic chromium-nickel steel weld.

Probes are very sensitive elements. During measurement, they should be gently placed on the sample. Please note:
- The weld must be completely cooled before measurement. The probe should make gentle contact with the specimen.
- If using an external power supply, be sure to remove the battery first.
- Do not disassemble or beat the probe, as this will cause parameter changes.
- Remove the battery when not using the instrument for extended periods.
