With the mechanical anti-tailgating design, it can strictly restrict that only one person can pass at a time.
If full height turnstile receives a valid open signal at one direction , but pedestrian enters the passageway from the opposite direction and pushes turnstile arms within the allowing time, that is deemed to be the reverse pass. The turnstile system will lock the arms to prevent pedestrian going through.
