Proper Usage Instructions
Step 1: Remove Fire Blanket
Pull down sharply on the white tabs hanging from the bottom of the storage package to quickly release the blanket for emergency access.
Step 2: Protect Your Hands
Roll the corners of the blanket over your hands to shield them from flames and heat. Flame retardant gloves are recommended if available.
Step 3: Cover the Fire
Gently place the blanket over the flames, starting from the nearside and moving inward. Avoid throwing the blanket, which can cause flames to spread.
Step 4: Turn Off Heat Source
If applicable, immediately turn off any heat source (oven, stove, heater) to accelerate fire suppression. Expect normal smoke emission through the blanket.
Step 5: Wait for Cooling
Leave the blanket in place for at least 15 minutes to ensure complete fire suppression. Do not move or touch the blanket until it has cooled completely.
Step 6: Contact Emergency Services
Call the fire department immediately. Professional assessment is necessary to ensure complete extinguishment and prevent re-ignition.
Safety Notes
This fire blanket is specifically designed for use on persons during emergency situations. For small fires on individuals, brushing with a slightly damp cotton towel may be sufficient. Always prioritize professional emergency response for any fire incident.
