Falling Head Apparatus:
The falling head permeability test is a common laboratory testing method used to determine the permeability of fine-grained soils with intermediate and low permeability such as silts and clay-like. This testing method can be applied to an undisturbed sample.
Before the test, the sample must be completely saturated with water and the rate of the fall of the water could be read from the tubes.
