Product Description

This SFF-8654 8i to SFF-8654 8i high-density connector cable is designed for next-generation high-speed storage and PCIe applications inside compact electronic systems. Both ends are equipped with Mini SAS HD male connectors using precision crimp terminals and secure latching shells, providing a reliable mating interface to host and backplane PCB headers.

The 30/32AWG copper twinax wire cable is engineered for an 85-ohm differential impedance, supporting clean digital signal transmission for SAS, NVMe, and other high-bandwidth protocols. Each pair is foil-shielded with an overall braided screen to minimize crosstalk and EMI in dense server and industrial control enclosures. A black PET braided sleeve improves abrasion resistance, airflow and cable management while keeping the harness flexible.

With full OEM/ODM customization capability, the assembly can be adapted to different pin-outs, lengths, labeling, or combined with auxiliary power and control lines, giving system integrators a complete high-speed interconnect solution.

Precautions 

Confirm that host and backplane interfaces are SFF-8643 and SFF-8087 respectively and that the pin assignment matches the system design before mating the connectors.

Avoid excessive bending near the over-molded terminals; follow the recommended minimum bend radius of the SAS wire cable to preserve impedance and lifespan.

Keep the harness away from sharp edges, high-current power lines and strong EMI sources wherever possible to maintain stable high-speed signal quality.

For special environments such as telecom, industrial or automotive electronics, enhanced temperature rating, additional shielding, and dedicated connector or pitch options can be customized on request.
