Self-supporting Figure 8 Aerial Outdoor Fiber Optic Cable for Overhead Networks
The GYXTC8S is a figure-8 self-supporting aerial outdoor fiber optic cable designed for reliable performance in external environments. Its integrated stranded steel messenger wire provides the tensile strength required for aerial installation without additional support structures, reducing overall deployment costs.
The 250µm optical fibers are positioned within a loose tube made of high-modulus plastic. Each tube is filled with a water-resistant filling compound for protection. Two PSP (polyethylene-steel-polyethylene) layers are longitudinally applied over the outer loose tube. Steel wires and water-blocking compound within the loose tubes ensure a compact, longitudinally water-blocked structure. This cable core, together with the stranded messenger wires forming the supporting section, is completed with a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) sheath in a figure-8 configuration.
