Product Description

2 fibers to 144 fibers Multimode OM2 50/125 GFYTA Underground Duct Outdoor Optical Fiber Cable PE Outsheath

1. What is GFYTA Underground Duct Outdoor Optical Fiber Cable?

  • GFYTA Underground Duct Outdoor Optical Fiber Cable is a specialized, light-weight and non-mettalic with aluminum armored fiber optic communication cable engineered for underground pipes, conduits, and municipal utility tunnels.
  • It features a stranded loose-tube design, a completely non-metallic central strength member, and an aluminum moisture armor, giving it an ideal balance of moisture protection and electrical isolation.
  • It is designed for underground duct and conduit installations in environments with high electrical interference or lightning risks.
  • The cable capacity from 2fibers upto maximum 288fibers.

2. GFYTA Underground Duct Outdoor Optical Fiber Cable Structure:

Main Layer /Component Structural Material Comprehensive Detailed Description
1. Optical Fibers

Single-mode G.652D/G657/G655

or Multimode OM1/OM2/OM3/OM4)

High-purity 250μm color-coded fibers providing ultra-low signal attenuation. Colored per standard sequences (e.g., TIA/EIA-598) for fast splicing identification.
2. Loose Tubes PBT loose tube Tubes that hold up to 12 fibers each. The loose-tube architecture gives the fibers "excess length," allowing them to move freely without stress during tight corner bends or cable pulls.
3. Tube Filling Compound Thixotropic Waterproof Fiber Gel A specialized compound filling the loose tubes. It dampens physical shocks, resists chemical aging (hydrolysis), and shields the fibers from any ambient dampness.
4. Central Strength Member FRP A rigid, non-metallic rod located in the exact center of the cable. It absorbs the primary longitudinal tension applied during installation pulls and prevents axial contraction in freezing temperatures.
5. Cable Core Matrix SZ-Stranding Layer with Water-Blocking Compound The loose tubes and structural fillers are twisted around the FRP core in a back-and-forth "SZ" pattern. The interstitial spaces are flooded with a 100% water-blocking grease to stop water from traveling down the length of the cable if breached.
6. Inner Moisture Armor APL Tape (Aluminum Polyethylene Laminate)  A layer of aluminum tape coated with a protective polymer layer, applied longitudinally over the core matrix. It serves as a continuous radial moisture barrier and adds lightweight crush resistance.
7. Outer Sheath Black PE A rugged outer sheath extruded directly over the aluminum armor. Formulated with carbon black to provide total resistance to outdoor UV radiation, thermal cracking, and friction within plastic ducts.

3. GFYTA Underground Duct Outdoor Optical Fiber Cable Feature:

Main Feature Technical Material Practical Deployment Advantage
Total Non-Conductivity FRP Central Strength Member Eliminates the need for grounding. The cable can be safely co-located next to high-voltage power lines and is safe from lightning damage.
Air-Tight Moisture Barrier Aluminum Tape (APL)  Provides an absolute shield against stagnant groundwater found in underground ducts. Aluminum resists corrosion much better than steel in acidic or alkaline soil conditions.
Lightweight Engineering Aluminum vs. Steel Armor The aluminum layer makes the cable considerably lighter than steel-armored equivalents (like GYTS). This minimizes pulling friction, allowing for longer continuous winch pulls with fewer mid-span splices.
Excellent Strain Relief SZ-Stranded Loose Tubes Optical fibers float freely inside gel-filled PBT tubes. When the cable stretches under high pulling tension during installation, the glass fibers experience zero mechanical stress.

4. Standard

  • Complies with Standard YD/T 1155-2001 as well as IEC 60794-1.

5. Fiber / Loose tube color code

1 2 3 4 5 6
Blue Orange Green Brown Grey White
7 8 9 10 11 12
Red Black Yellow Violet Pink Aqua
