G657A1 Direct Burial Non Metallic Optical Fiber Cable GYFTY Cable for Outdoor FTTH Networks
The GYFTY fiber optic cable is a non-metallic, direct burial outdoor cable designed for power transmission systems, areas with excessive thunder activity, and environments with high electromagnetic interference. It is primarily suited for aerial or duct installation. Both single mode GYFTY and multimode GYFTY cables are available.
A Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) rod is positioned at the center of the core as a non-metallic strength member. Loose tubes filled with a water-resistant filling compound are stranded around the strength member into a compact, circular core. Aramid yarn is applied over waterproof material, and the cable is completed with a PE sheath.
GYFTY cables are available from 2 cores to 144 cores and are used in high-voltage areas for long-distance communications. The fibers are housed in loose tubes made of high modulus plastic, with each tube filled with a water-resistant compound. The cable core is wrapped with water blocking tape to prevent water ingress, then completed with a PE sheath.
