What is OM5 Patch Cable
OM5 fiber jumper is a laser-optimized multi-mode fiber jumper that specifies broadband characteristics for WDM. Also known as broadband multi-mode fiber jumper, it is suitable for high-bandwidth applications. Using WDM technology of single-mode fiber, it extends the range of available wavelengths for network transmission, supporting four wavelengths on a single fiber core - reducing required fiber cores by 75%.

- Color: OM5 has aqua green outer sheath; OM4 has aqua blue
- Wavelength: OM5 supports 850/1300nm with 4 wavelengths simultaneously; OM4 supports 850/1310nm with single wavelength
- Transmission Distance: OM5 provides longer distance at same wavelength
- Transmission Rates: OM5 supports 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s; OM4 supports 10Gb/s, 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s
