The appearance of the dried bud is irregular as long and round like kidney with the length ranging from 5-15mm, width 2-6mm, and thickness 2-3mm. With white yellow piles and two needle-like tiny bracts, the dark-green calyces joins in the root and cleaves into 5 teeth in the needle-like head, with two teeth symphysis. Encircled by the calyces,the five equal-length blue-purple sepals has 10 stamens, of which 9 join together; the slightly bent pistil is slim with piles. The smell and taste are thin. The larger and light-purple buds are thought to be the best.
