Air Spring Installation and Replacement
After long-term use, air springs, especially those on trucks, are more prone to wear and tear due to their heavy load. Due to the natural aging of rubber and other reasons, small cracks will appear along the circumferential direction. If the crack expands to expose the fabric layer, regardless of the size of the exposed area, the air spring airbag must be replaced in time!
 
1. Hold down the upper stop with the thumbs of both hands, and at the same time squeeze the middle part of the airbag inward with four fingers, and compress it down to the width of one hand.
 
2. Place the compressed air spring between the piston and the top plate, and make sure to place the font with the trademark facing up.
 
3. Fix the lower port on the ring seat on the piston, and fix the upper port on the ring seat under the top plate. During the installation process, protective measures must be taken to support the frame and axle to prevent the car body from slipping and causing personal injury.
 
4. Pressurize the air spring so that its upper and lower ports fit precisely between the top plate and the piston. The port should slide into place with a quick snap.
 
5. Lower the vehicle, the air spring will automatically roll down along the piston. Installed.
 
Matters Needing Attention
1. Clean the top plate and spring piston, check whether there are burrs or rust on the mounting metal parts (replace if necessary). Apply soap solution or tire mounting lubricant (grease is not available) to the seam of the piston.
 
2. When installing, ensure that the air spring is not damaged, and the sealing surface of the matching metal parts (cover plate, piston) is not damaged, rusted or dirty.
 
3. Examination of old metal pistons shows whether there is accumulated dirt, or rust caused by surface wear and damage. If present, the piston surface should be cleaned and if necessary treated to prevent rust or replaced with new metal.
