How to Replace a VOL-VO Truck Cab Shock Absorber
Ensure the truck is parked on a flat, level surface and the engine is turned off.
Remove the retaining clip that secures the bottom stud of the shock absorber to the cab suspension crossmember. This can be done using a suitable tool, such as pliers or a clip remover tool.
Locate and remove the upper base nut that secures the top of the shock absorber to the cab. This can be done using a suitable tool, such as an impact wrench or a ratchet and socket set.
Once the upper base nut has been removed, the shock absorber can be pulled out of position and removed from the cab.
Install the new shock absorber by sliding it into position and securing the upper base nut in place using a suitable tool. Ensure the nut is tightened to the manufacturer's specifications.
Attach the bottom stud of the shock absorber to the cab suspension crossmember and secure it in place using a new retaining clip.
