Installing a Flange-Connected Air Spring
To install a flange-connected air spring, follow these general steps:
| Choose a suitable location for mounting the inflation valves. Popular locations include the wheel well flanges, license plate recess in the bumper, under the gas cap access door, or through the license plate itself . |
| Ensure there is enough clearance around the inflation valves for an air chuck. This will allow easy access for inflating and deflating the air spring . |
| Attach the air spring to the lower mounting bolt. Hold the lower mounting bolt with a 3/4 open-end wrench and hand-turn the air spring onto the bolt. Make sure to leave it loose for later adjustment . |
| Tighten the nylon nut. Use a torque wrench to tighten the nylon nut to 4 ft/lbs. It's important not to overtighten it. |
