Air suspension systems utilize an electric or engine-driven air compressor to pump air into flexible rubber bellows. The air pressure inflates these bellows, effectively raising the vehicle chassis from the axle for improved ride comfort and load management.
Bellow type air springs offer adjustable firmness through inflation/deflation control. With superior load handling capacity due to larger size, these springs provide enhanced lifting capability at lower air pressures. Ideal for heavy-duty applications including trucks and trailers.
Sleeve type air springs feature compact designs suitable for vehicles with limited suspension space. While offering space efficiency, they have reduced capacity for heavy load applications compared to bellow types.
GUOMAT recommends replacing the air dryer when addressing air spring leaks. This maintenance step extends the lifespan of your air compressor and solenoid valves by preventing moisture accumulation from overworked compressors.
To disconnect air lines from compressor dryer or solenoid components, simultaneously push in on the fitting while pulling out on the line. Most fittings feature orange plastic rings; if absent, push directly on the brass fitting.
