Flex Metal for Refractory Linings | Hexmetal Grids for Erosive Flue Gas Streams

Flexmetal is the direct counterpart of Hexmetal. It performs all the same functions as Hexmetal, it’s design however, allows free form rolling to diameters as small as possible without the need for any power forming equipment.

Structure of HESLY Flex Metal

Flex Metal Grid for Refractory Linings is made from shaped metal flat wires connected with rods so that flexibility of the panels is guaranteed in one direction, thus enabling installation without prior rolling. This characteristic means that Flexmetal can also be installed on cylinders with very small diameters,such as cyclone diplegs, ducts, fan casings and small cylinders. Flexmetal is always available in rolls of standard height 1020 mm in AISI 304H, 410S and 310S. On request, Flexmetal can be supplied in other materials and in rolls of different widths.

Flex metal refractory lining is the direct counterpart of hex metal, it performs all the same functions of reinforcement of thin wall refractory linings, while its design allows free form rolling to very small diameters.

Hexmesh: Bonding Hole Type Instead of lance tabs, holes are punched through the walls of the hexmetal cell. Refractory can then flow through these holes to achieve a bond from one cell to another.	Hex-mesh: Pronges/Lances Type this style has lance tabs protruding from the walls of the hexagonal cell to act as anchorage for the refractory.
