Welded Bar Grating Trench Cover System
HeslyGrating trench grate systems combine our most popular bar gratings and embed frames in a complete set for economic, simple installation on construction projects. Systems are available in standard duty for pedestrian loads and heavy duty for demanding vehicular traffic.
HeslyGrating allows the specifier to combine any of our Standard Duty pedestrian grates or Heavy Duty vehicular gratings with any of our popular Embed Frames. Unlike cast iron or molded trench products, this flexible system allows the user to specify the exact clear opening (“S” dimension) desired.
All gratings are provided with plain surface (the optional serrated surface is available when specified) and open ends are trench banded to maximize drain capacity.
Unless otherwise specified, all trench frames and grating are hot dip galvanized after fabrication in accordance with ASTM Specification A123.

Bare Steel Mill finished carbon steel bars without additional coating. Will show discolorationfrom welding and fabrication. Subject to rusting. |
Hot Dip Galvanized Zinc coating applied in accordance with ASTM A123. Provides long lasting corrosion resistance.

Powder Coating One coat of HeslyGratings' standard coating. Stand colors are green, black, red, and blue etc. |
Other Finishes: PVDF etc Specialty coatings may be specified in a wide range of colors. painting, or epoxy paints. |
Load Capacity of Heavy Duty Steel Grating
| Important ! The charge-capacity at the grating is determined by the height and thickness of the bearing-bars (=supporting-bars). The bearing-bar must always be supported. Therefore, the bearing-bar is in all our documents = first dimension. Cross-bars and bordering off the grid contribute to the stability. |
