Q1: Is this probe compatible with earlier 3300 series (non‑XL) components?
A: Yes, electrically and mechanically the 3300 XL 8 mm probes are backward compatible with earlier 3300 series 5 mm/8 mm components —

but mixing may result in reduced performance (to the older series spec). For optimal performance, use matched

components (probe + extension cable + Proximitor sensor) from the same series.

Q2: What is the typical probe gap and target material?
A: For the 8 mm series the calibration is typically at a gap of 1.27 mm (50 mils) to an AISI 4140 steel target. 
For the NSv variant, specs may use 1.0 mm (40 mils) gap to AISI 4140 target. 
If the target material or gap differ, check with manufacturer for

corrected scale factor/linearity.

Q3: Can this probe be used for both vibration and position measurements?
A: Yes — the underlying transducer system is designed for both static (position) anddynamic (vibration)

 measurements. However, the actual measurement bandwidth and accuracy will depend on

 system configuration (probe, cable, sensor, monitor) and application. The frequency

response is specified e.g., up to ~12 kHz in one
