Q1: What does this probe measure?
A1: This probe measures the gap (distance) between its tip and a conductive target surface (e.g., a rotating shaft), simultaneously

allowing measurement of static displacement (position) and dynamic displacement (vibration).

 The voltage output is proportional to gap.

Q3: Is this probe compatible with other 3300 XL components?
A3: Yes – it belongs to the 3300 XL 8 mm family, which supports interchangeability of probe + extension cable + sensor

without bench matching when used correctly. However, you should ensure you remain within the correct

family (8 mm) and that the extension cable and sensor are matched for

 length/characteristics.

Q5: If I change the cable length (e.g., use longer than 1.0 m), will the probe still work?
A5: Possibly, but you should be cautious. The system performance (linearity, sensitivity) depends on the total

 length and electrical characteristics (probe + cable + sensor). While the 3300 XL family supports

interchangeability, changing length outside what is validated may

affect accuracy and calibration.
