Q1: What difference does the “MOD:145004‑90” make?
A: It indicates the sensor has been modified/calibrated under datasheet modification number 145004 for a specific target material (variant 90). That means the internal calibration of the sensor is set for that target, which can improve accuracy for that application. However, it also means you need to ensure

 the rest of the system (probe, target geometry, material) matches this calibration, otherwise measurement accuracy may degrade.

Q2: Can I substitute this sensor for any 330180 model?
A: Possibly, yes, since the 3300 XL sensor family is designed for interchangeability. However, because this variant has a specific modification

(“‑90”), you must ensure the application conditions (target material, gap, cable length, probe type) are compatible. If you just

 pull any 330180 sensor with different calibration or target setting, you may introduce error.

Q3: What kind of target material does this sensor work with?
A: The base system assumes AISI 4140 steel for the target (per the 3300 XL datasheet).  When a sensor is “modified” per 145004,

it may be calibrated to another target material (for example 42 Cr Mo 4, etc). You must confirm the target material the sensor

 was calibrated for, and ensure the installed target matches.
