Q: What is a “PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer Assembly”?
A: It’s a self-contained proximity sensor system from Bently Nevada that combines the eddy‑current probe and the Proximitor electronics in

a single housing — so you do not need a separate extension cable or external sensor housing. Field wiring connects directly

 between the monitor and the PROXPAC XL assembly.

Q: What are the environmental and mechanical protections?
A: The housing is made of PPS thermoplastic with glass/conductive fibers to strengthen it and dissipate electrostatic charges.

The PROXPAC XL housings are rated Type 4X and IP66 — meaning they resist dust, water jets, and are built

for harsh industrial environments.

Q: What kind of measurement does it provide?
A: Using an eddy-current probe, the assembly measures the gap between the probe tip and a conductive target (e.g. shaft),

outputting a voltage proportional to this distance. This allows non-contact measurement of shaft position (static

displacement), clearance, and dynamic vibration — which is essential for condition

monitoring of rotating machinery.
