Q1 — What exactly does the TDI module do?
A: It acts as the communication gateway between the 3500 rack and external monitoring/analysis software (such as System 1®), collecting both steady-state and transient data from the rack and transmitting it for diagnosis and reporting.

Q2 — Is this module part of the critical monitoring path?
A: No. The TDI is not part of the critical protection path that directly affects automatic protection actions; it focuses on data collection and communication.

Q3 — Can the TDI capture transient (waveform) data by itself?
A: Yes, it captures static and some dynamic data as standard. To enable high-resolution transient waveform capture, an optional Channel Enabling Disk may be required.
