1. What is the purpose of the 3500/04 Earthing I/O Module?

It provides a dedicated intrinsically safe (IS) earth ground reference within a Bently Nevada 3500 Series system for transducer circuits that use internal barriers to

comply with hazardous area safety standards.

2. Why do I need this module in my 3500 system?

When using internal barrier modules (for protection in hazardous environments), a proper IS earth reference is required for the

 barriers to function safely and correctly. The 3500/04 module supplies this earth without

needing external earth barrier hardware.

3. Is this module required for non‑hazardous area installations?

Not typically. It is specifically intended for hazardous area installations where intrinsic safety is mandated.

If you are not using internal barriers or operating in a hazardous classification, this

module may not be necessary.
