Q1. What does this proximity probe measure?

This probe measures distance (displacement) between the sensor tip and a conductive rotating target. From these measurements, it can derive vibration, shaft position, speed/Keyphasor, and other dynamic behaviors of rotating machinery.

Q2. How does the eddy‑current proximity technology work?

Eddy‑current probes generate an alternating magnetic field at the probe tip. A conductive target (like a steel shaft) moving within this field induces eddy currents, altering

the probe’s impedance. The change is proportional to distance and can be processed into vibration or position data by monitoring electronics.

Q3. What is the NSv designation?

NSv stands for Narrow Side‑view, meaning these probes are designed for compact installations or where traditional larger sensors

 would not fit easily — such as small shaft or limited side‑view spaces.
