The PCB marked IS200ESELH1A is designed as a component for the Mark VI series. The MKVI is one of the later systems released by GE as one of the Speedtronic steam/gas turbine management series. Speedtronic systems have been managing heavy-duty turbines with ever-increasing reliability since GE released the first MKI system in the late 1960s. The MKVI is designed with Simplex and Redundant forms available to meet the needs of varying types of systems. Both systems can be built with a Windows-based PC operator interface.

The IS200ESELH1A functions within the Mark VI as an Exciter collector board. It is designed to receive up to six logic level gate pulse signals from a corresponding EMIO board; the EMIO is a VME style board designed to manage the I/O of various terminal boards. The gate pulse signals are then sent out to an exciter gate pulse amplifier board (EGPA) that is mounted in a separate cabinet. While a Simplex system may use only one ESEL board, redundant systems will need a board driven by M1 and another driven by M2.
