As books are placed on the shelves, the unique information of each book’s HF RFID tag is read and documented in the library’s computer system. Each shelf is equipped with multiple antennas, a reader, and an unpluggable cable. This cable connects the shelves to an information column, which includes a PC, a reader, and the application software to communicate with the library-management system.

- Real-time inventory: the system can real-time detect books in the shelf and lend books, at the same time generate lost book list, complete the high workload, low efficiency of the original inventory work.
- Wrong shelf prompt: when readers or librarians put books wrong, the system can automatically update the latest position information of book to the background database, ensure the accuracy of the readers to find books position.
- Self-service books return function: Infrared emission detector on each layer to realize this function.
- Navigation and positioning: according to the query conditions of readers and librarians, such as the title, author, etc., positioning the books, and form a three-dimensional navigation maps, easy for readers and librarians to find books quickly.
