Splash apparatus
In addition, appliances, except those marked IPX5 and IPX6, are subjected for 5 min to the following splash test.
The apparatus shown in Figure 104 is used. The appliance is placed in normal position of use and adjustable feet shall be set in accordance with the instructions for use to the most unfavourable height.
For appliances normally used on the floor, the bowl is placed on the floor and is moved around in such a way as to splash the appliance from all directions. During the test, the water pressure is so regulated that the water splashes up 150 mm above the bottom of the bowl. The bowl is
not positioned underneath the appliance.
For all other appliances, the bowl is placed on the same plane where the appliance is placed and is moved around in such a way as to splash the appliance from all directions. During the test, the water pressure is so regulated that the water splashes up 100 mm above the bottom
of the bowl. The bowl is not positioned underneath the appliance.
Care is taken that the appliance is not hit by the direct jet.
