IEC61588 / 60065 Mandrel Test Device for Insulation Material Layer Abrasion Test​

This Mandrel Test Device according to IEC61588 Fig 6 /IEC60950 appendix and IEC60065/GB19212 standard relate clause design manufacture dedicated instrument.

The test shall be performed by fixing the specimens of thin sheets on a mandrel made of nickel plated steel or brass with smooth surface finish. A metal foil shall be placed closely to the surface of the specimen and subjected to a pull force of 1 N.

The metal foil shall be so positioned that its borders are 20 mm away from the borders of the specimen, and when the mandrel is in its final position, it covers the edges upon which the specimen is lying by at least 10 mm.
