- Function
1.The pinion gear (often called sun gear in planetary sets) is the drive gear for the swing mechanism.
2.It receives torque from the hydraulic swing motor and transmits it to the planetary gears, allowing the excavator’s upper structure to rotate.
3.Converts high-speed, low-torque rotation into high-torque, low-speed swing action through gear reduction.
