1.Directional Control:
In many configurations, the pinion gear’s meshing with another gear changes the direction of rotation. For example, in a differential, the pinion gear (connected to the driveshaft) meshes with a ring gear (attached to the differential CAASE), redirecting power 90 degrees to drive the axle shafts and wheels—enabling the machinery to move forward or backward.
