Why Use Nylon Serving on Litz Wire?
Litz wire is inherently delicate because its strands are very fine (can be as thin as 0.025mm). Without protection:
- Strands can break during winding or handling
- The insulation (often a thin enamel) can be scraped off
- The overall bundle can become unwieldy
The nylon serving acts as a tough, unified jacket that:
