A basic (alkaline) catalyst and, usually but not necessarily, a molar excess of formaldehyde is used to make resol resins.

Resole Phenolic resin Y6460 is a water soluble, thermosetting liquid phenolic resin for cellulosic
reinforcement and latex adhesive formulations:

• Displays good heat, solvent and chemical resistance
• Provides good adhesion to a variety of surfaces
• Provides high stiffness properties to paper and texile

Resole phenolic resins are widely accepted by the foam industry for their superior consistency, crucial for the challenging production process.

SUGGESTED USES

• Saturating resin for honeycomb and texile for scrouring pads
• Latex adhesives for use in bonding paper, textiles, leather, metals, plastics, elastomers and sponge
• Wet-end addition resin by lowering pH to about 4
• Binder for grain in coated abrasive applications
