The Whiteness Meter is used to measure the whiteness of object surfaces, with results displayed on the LCD screen. It finds applications across various industries including paper, textiles, printing/dyeing, plastics, ceramics, building materials, paints, chemicals, and quality inspection departments.

This instrument can also measure paper transparency, opacity, light scattering coefficient, and absorption coefficient. The desktop whiteness meter (microcomputer type) consists of a light source, optical system, detection system, and microcomputer data processing/display system.

The instrument measures the blue light whiteness (R457) and fluorescence whitening degree (F) of materials. It defines whiteness on a scale where 100 represents an ideal white surface and 0 represents absolute black. Compliant with international standards (CIE) and multiple national standards including GB2913, GB5950, and GB8940.1.
