Smooth, Printable Surface:
The top layer is a specially coated paper that allows for high-resolution printing, vibrant color reproduction, and a matte or glossy finish without glare.
Excellent Die-Cutting Properties:
The core material is formulated to be cut cleanly by precision steel puzzle dies. This results in: Sharp, well-defined piece shapes.
Durability:
Good puzzle board is resistant to bending and can withstand repeated assembly and disassembly. It should not delaminate (separate into layers) easily.
Blued or Patterned Backing (for some premium puzzles):
The back is sometimes colored blue or has a pattern. This makes it easier to sort pieces and is a mark of higher quality, as it uses more ink and a finer backing paper.
