General Information

For example, drying more than 6 hours in a drying box at 150 degrees C, the water content in the debris is less than 0.05%, in order to avoid the rapid hydrolysis of PET during the subsequent extrusion granulation, which leads to a sharp decline in molecular weight and a sharp drop in viscosity.

The role of pre-crystallization is to make PET fragments crystallized and increase their melting temperature, so as to prevent PET fragmentation during heating and drying. Pre crystallization can be carried out in a common drying box or in a mechanical dryer similar to a high-speed mixer. The latter relies on mechanical friction to heat up the material. This method is faster in temperature rising and more favorable for volatilization of water. If the drying box is pre-crystallized, the temperature of the drying box can be set to 120 or slightly high until the PET fragments lose their transparency, the pre-crystallization process can be considered to be completed.
