Introduction:
SME Vertical sump pumps are used in open sumps or pits with the shaft with strainer are immerged in water. The shaft of every pump model has its own standard length, but based on the variety of the different applications, the shaft length can be shorten or prolonged, and the max. shaft length of each model is 3 meters. As alternative, the customer can choose to use lower suction pipes instead of making the shaft enlengthened, in which way, the total cost of the pump will be reduced. Vertical sump pumps are very popularly used in quarries where the customers need to transport the sludge from one place to another, and in applications where horizontal pumps don't suit. At SME, you'll find vertical slurry pumps made from metal or rubber, metal of white iron A05, and rubber of black soft natural rubber. The metal pumps are used for abrasive slurries and the rubber pumps are used for corrosive slurries. The sizes of discharge vary from 40mm to 300mm. Sump pumps are a kind of special slurry pumps because they are different than submersible pumps which can be used in water, and they are not the same with horizontal pumps which can only be used on surface. Another important feature of vertical pumps is that they don't require any shaft sealing, and they can run dry without any slurry feeding.
