AZ31B magnesium alloy is available in two manufacturing types: wrought magnesium alloy and cast magnesium alloy. This material delivers excellent mechanical properties and is widely used in automotive components, machinery parts, and communication equipment.
Compared to cast magnesium alloy, the wrought AZ31B magnesium alloy offers higher strength and better plasticity, making it ideal for thin plates, extrusions, and forgings.
The cast magnesium alloy AZ31B features high vibration resistance and excellent heat absorption properties, making it the preferred material for aircraft wheel manufacturing.
AZ31B magnesium alloy has extensive automotive applications including clutch housings, engine hoods, gearbox cylinder heads, air conditioner shells, steering brackets, and brake brackets. Its use in steering wheels and seats enhances impact absorption and reduces vehicle weight.
