Spirometry is one among a type of pulmonary function test. It helps to measure the volume of air and the speed of air flow from a patient’s breath. The data can be used to evaluate the patient's lung based on the inputs collected. The spirometry sensor is set up with one inlet measuring the pressure inside the spirometer tubing and the other inlet measuring the ambient pressure of the environment. The test involves the patient to breathe using the mouthpiece to generate an air flow through the tube. The difference in pressure is converted into an electrical signal by sensor.
