DIN Abrasion Test Machine For Rubber Plastic Leather is designed to test surface friction using a specific piece of sandpaper. After friction testing for a predetermined time, the condition of the material surface, weight, volume, and thickness are assessed to determine the abrasive nature of materials.
Under predetermined contact pressure and given area, the specimen is tested with sandpaper at an angle to measure abrasion resistance. The sandpaper is affixed to the surface of the drum, and samples are pressed against the drum. The specimen moves laterally along the roller, producing abrasion resistance at one end. The test measures mass loss of the specimen, with volume abrasion calculated using the specimen's density.
