Airport fire truck, also called rapid intervention vehicle (RIV) can be used for rapidly rescuing aircraft passengers and crew, and extinguishing fire. It is also applicable to building firefighting.
The total weight of airport fire truck is 29 tons, using the German Mercedes-Benz ACTROS 3360 chassis, 6 × 6 drive, Germany Mercedes-Benz OM502LA water-cooled V-type eight-cylinder 24-valve turbocharged and intercooled diesel engine electronically controlled common rail injection, 9500L water tank, 1200L foam tank, equipped with controlling fire-fighting equipment and rescue equipments in the cab.
1. Main features of the rapid intervention vehicle (RIV)
- It's design allows the vehicle to take advantage of both an external water source and fire hydrants. And it can also use its own tank for firefighting work.
- The airport vehicle matches with the United States HALE RSD100 type fire pump. Its flow rate is about 6000 L / min.
- Foam proportioning system is America W.S. Darley AF125 type with the mixing ratio of 3%, 6%.
- Fire monitor on the roof of vehicle is USA Akron 3578 remote control water / foam monitor with injection rate of 4800 L / min.
- Fire monitor in front of vehicle is USA Akron 3462 electric RC (remote control) monitor with injection rate of 1140 L / min.
- All connection systems accord with Chinese industry standards or equivalent standards.

3. Environmental Adaptability: The airport fire truck can adapt to any of the following circumstances and will not affect any operation and firefighting systems. It can adapt to saline mist corrosion environments. If ambient temperature is -25 ℃ or 60 ℃, it can work smoothly. If relative humidity is 45% to 95%, it also can work smoothly.
