430 stainless steel is common-used steel, has good corrosion resistance, has better thermal conductivity than austenitic stainless steel, it’s thermal expansion coefficient is smaller than the austenitic stainless steel, is resistant to thermal fatigue, due to adding stabilized element titanium, has good mechanical properties on welding position.

Among 400 series, the most widely used are grade 430, it has 18% chromium .430 stainless steel type is characterized by cheap, low thermal expansion coefficient, resistance to chloride stress corrosion better than 300 stainless steel varieties; however, the disadvantage is that the forming properties and tensile strength of welding is less than the 300 series stainless steel models, therefore, its use of the field is limited. 400 stainless steel varieties currently adding niobium, titanium, copper and aluminum elements can improve the deep drawing performance, weldability, corrosion and high temperature strength, can partially replace the 300 series stainless steel models. 4The United States and Japan these models are widely used in automotive exhaust pipe (409 and 410L).
