Key Components and Functions of Automotive Air Conditioning Compressors
1.Compressor: The heart of the automotive air conditioning system, it compresses low-pressure, low-temperature refrigerant gas into high-pressure, high-temperature gas, enabling efficient heat absorption and cooling.
2.Condenser: Converts high-pressure, high-temperature refrigerant gas into high-pressure, low-temperature liquid, releasing heat to the external environment.
3.Evaporator: Evaporates low-pressure, low-temperature refrigerant liquid into gas, absorbing heat from the cabin to reduce temperature.
4.Expansion Valve: Controls the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator, ensuring stable flow and pressure for efficient cooling.
5.Electromagnetic Clutch: Engages or disengages the compressor from the engine via a belt, controlled by electrical signals.
How to Replace an Automotive Air Conditioning Compressor
- Identify the Cause: Clearly identify the reason for replacing the air conditioning compressor. Determine whether the compressor itself is faulty or if other system components are causing the issue.
- Preparation: Turn off the power supply and disconnect electrical connections. Release refrigerant from both high and low-pressure sides. Remove the drive belt and any other necessary components.
- Oil Drainage: Drain the old compressor oil by releasing inert gas and following the arrow direction. Calculate the required oil for the new compressor.
- Install New Compressor: Install the new compressor with the correct torque specifications. Connect the discharge and suction hoses, and apply compressor oil to the O-rings.
- Reassemble & Test: Install the multi-v-belt and adjust it properly. Reassemble any removed components, such as the air deflector and undercover. Refill the refrigerant and test for leaks.
