Plain weave stainless steel wire mesh is made of a weft wire and a warp wire with same diameter woven together. It has excellent resistance to acid, alkali, high temperature and abrasion.

Stainless steel wire cloth can be used for filter, sieve, insect screen and serve in electroplating, mining,oil, plastic, fiber, food, medicine industries.

Square weave is also called plain weave and it is the most commonly used weave.

Each weft wire passes alternatively over and under each warp wire and vice versa. Warp and weft wire diameters are usually the same.

Required parameters to correctly identify a wire mesh are: raw material, width and length of wire mesh, identification n° and wire diameter.
The identification n° of a wire mesh can be signified in these ways:
– french n° = number of meshes in a French Inch (mm 27,78)         
– mesh n° = number of meshes in an English Inch (mm 25,40)
– nit = number of meshes in 50 mm
