Based on our expertise, we recommend stall sizes of 10'×10' (3m×3m) to 12'×12' (3.6m×3.6m) for average-sized riding horses. These are minimum dimensions - larger stalls provide more comfort, especially for draft horses who benefit from extra space to move and lie down comfortably.
For foaling stalls, many owners prefer combining two standard stalls by removing the partition. This flexible approach eliminates the need for dedicated foaling stalls while providing ample space for mares and foals when needed.
